Bandage

I no longer have words. I'm just broken, and I'm done pretending. This might be the last entry for a bit. Normally I am against such short, seemingly meaningless entries.

But when something's so serious that it gets ME to shut up, I think that qualifies as a milestone.

So sayeth the Brad... and it echoes until I am well.

Falsity

Lies are, by their very nature, a medicine of convenience. Administered when they are easier to swallow than truth. Purged when they are discovered to be poison.

Nobles

Don your hoods and capes,
My friends, its time to go and feast.
Push your way through brush and bramble;
Find within its folds a beast -
Tame this creature with your weapon;
Beat till it submits.
Leap upon its leathered back
And rip it all to bits.

The halls that we retire to
Know not of ghastly deeds
Conducted late at night in mire,
Tangled vines, and weeds.
But we adieu each night to find
A lesser beast than we;
Kill it; do not mourn its death;
And praise our aristocracy.

The day before we drank from goblets
Sipping vintage draught
Tonight we suckle from our prey
Like swine come to the slop.
On night of next we'll sit at tables
Laid with silvered ware
Speaking not of naughty works
While blood runs on the air.

The halls that we retire to
Know not of ghastly deeds
Conducted late at night in mire,
Tangled vines, and weeds.
But we adieu each night to find
A lesser beast than we;
Kill it; do not mourn its death;
And praise our aristocracy.

Unicorns, and minotaurs,
Nymphs and pixies slain,
Leviathans, behemoths,
Yes, all of they we've smote
And laid their ruin here upon
The rocks that line the moat
Killed the peasant's fantasies
To bolster our own gain.

So wrap your noble shoulders, friends,
In velvet folds of station,
And help me end this creature's life
For sake of ostentation
When we have beat with signet rings
And stabbed with knives of gold
This hide will make a tapestry
And more food than we could hold.

The halls that we retire to
Know not of ghastly deeds
Conducted late at night in mire,
Tangled vines, and weeds.
But we adieu each night to find
A lesser beast than we;
Kill it; do not mourn its death;
And praise our aristocracy.

Princess

There are boys that will hurt you, Love,
Girls that just cry
Left with no one to
Cach tears from your eye
You'll sit there and shake
With a body racked with loss
Wondering why you were
So easy to toss

Just feel my ephemeral fingers
Know that I'll always be there
Right by your side
Hiding inside the light
Of the sun, and the mist
Drifting through the night's air.

If your frame has been broken, Love,
Rent near in two
Face runs with blood
Over black, violet, blue,
Try to cry long and loud
And let fear grip you tight
Because that will bring me faster
Through blackest of nights

Just feel my ephemeral fingers
Know that I'll always be there
Right by your side
Hiding inside the light
Of the sun, and the mist
Drifting through the night's air.

When you scream, seeing things
Behind bushes and trees
They hit you, and drag you
Right down to your knees
Your cries carry me faster
To where you have fallen
I'll run to your calling
Protect you, you'll see

Just feel my warm fingers
Finally I'm here
Right by your side
Shining the light
And piercing the darkness
Destroying enemies near
So, Love, there's no reason to fear...

Fish, Water

We are mere players
Thrown to the earth
To play this engagement
Until its end
Pained, dirtied people
So weary and listless
Like a fish called Water
Defined by what we live in.
